'Criminal behaviour' spotted in West Lothian Lidl as man puts uncovered croissant on conveyor belt

A hilarious tweet has gone viral after some "criminal behaviour" was spotted in a West Lothian Lidl.

Whilst shopping in the Whitburn store, one customer was horrified to see one man break all the rules of shopping etiquette as he queued up at the checkout.

Posted by @glenford87, the picture shows the man in front of him in the queue waiting to purchase three items, a bag of microwave rice, a croissant and a chocolate cookie.

However, the picture quickly caused shock and horror with other users after it was spotted that both the croissant and the cookie were lying bare on the conveyer belt with no packaging or bags.

In a tweet that has now gained over 150k likes in just over 24 hours, it read:

"Can’t stop thinking about this absolutely criminal behavior in Whitburn Lidl."

Thousands were quick to respond with their reaction to the ghoulish behaviour, with one user commenting "this man is not afraid of death."

Another joked that this is the worst time to be committing such a social crime, replying: "man's about to tuck into a lovely corona-ssant."

One local also suggested that he "may as well just lick the conveyer belt", with another stating that "his stomach is going to be working overtime tonight".

Some however were unable to joke about the croiss-contamination, with one woman replying "disgusting, that's enough of the internet for one day".
