Crimestoppers offer £1,000 reward for information on wanted man Steven Edwards

Crimestoppers are offering a £1,000 reward for key information on a wanted man.

The independent charity is appealing for information on the whereabouts of Steven Edwards.

The 31-year-old is wanted following a "serious incident" in Peterlee on Monday afternoon.

He is described as around 5ft 9ins, of stocky build and with a shaved head, and has links to the Horden and Peterlee areas.

Durham Constabulary has warned that anyone found to be knowingly harbouring or assisting Edwards in avoiding apprehension may be committing the offence of assisting an offender and be liable to prosecution.

If you have any information relating to Edwards’ whereabouts, you can contact Durham police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The reward will only qualify for information passed to Crimestoppers on the 0800 555 111 number or via the untraceable anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

Information passed directly to the police will not qualify.
