Homicide detectives are investigating a reserve in Sydney’s west after a woman’s body was found in bushland on Sunday afternoon.
At about 1.15pm, police were called to a reserve off Irwin Street at Werrington, where they discovered what they believe to be the body of a middle-aged woman.
The woman has yet to be formally identified.
Per 9News, the body was discovered partially undressed, face down, with police suspecting that she had been there for several days.
Following the discovery, Detective Superintendent Trent King confirmed to the media that Homicide Squad detectives were assisting in investigations.

“It appears as though that body has been there for quite a time without discovery,” King said, per 9News.
“At this stage, I am informed it was a woman, potentially a middle-aged woman and that are still part of the investigation.
“I don’t believe it was wrapped — there were items around the body — but not wrapped.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
