Crime Rates Drop in Saudi Arabia

Saudi national security services delivered outstanding rates in their performance, reflecting strong efforts by the Interior Ministry to develop professionalism.

The Ministry was able within a few months of the appointment of Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef as Interior Minister to glide across the figure board with outstanding results.

Figures, comparisons and statistics of most security departments and Interior Ministry institutional work markers show that the Ministry is committed to the Saudi leadership according to Vision 2030.

The rate of homicide dropped by 6.5 percent, honor crimes dropped by 14.5 percent, thefts by 2 percent and armed robberies by 10.5 percent.

The number of road traffic accidents decreased by 19.7 percent, the number of fatalities by 19.1 percent and casualties by 15.9 percent.

As for border security and combating drug trafficking, the performance in arresting smugglers rose by 7.1 percent, controlling the borders and preventing infiltrations rose by 35.5 percent and arresting drug traffickers by 34.95 percent.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had sent separate cables to the Interior Minister to congratulate him on his ministry’s efforts in improving security in the Kingdom.
