BURNING Country-blues troubadour William Crighton will perform a second livestream gig next week after he made a charming debut on the Lounge Room Sessions on Tuesday. Crighton performed next to a campfire at his Bellbird home and at one point the internet feed dropped out after his iPhone overheated next to the flames.
More than 420 people logged on for the set which featured Crighton favourites Riverina Kid, 2000 Clicks and Priest, plus the debut of a new politically-charged song potentially titled We Are The Wild. The highlight was the closing Jesus Blues and Happiness where Crighton and his wife Julieanne were joined by their daughters Olive and Abigail in a family singalong. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
FRESH STREAM The debut album from Newcastle electronic artist Romy Church, aka e4444e, appeared to be destroyed after he left his hard drive with the recordings on top of his car roof before driving off. Only the bare acoustic and vocal tracks remained, which forced Church to re-record the lost material by working around the clock over four days in his bedroom studio.
The finished product is Coldstream Road to be released on June 12 through indie label Spunk Records. The latest single Wind Nocturne was released on Wednesday after premiering on Melbourne's Triple R radio station and is accompanied by a psychedelic animated video by Newcastle's David Lobb.
HEARTFELT Get on the Instagram page of US heavy music website The Noise on Monday at 10am to catch Newcastle punk band Eat Your Heart Out perform an acoustic set for the "Forget COVID-19 The Noise Livestream".
