A village cricketer has pulled off the 'greatest catch of all time' after taking a rebound grab after the wicketkeeper dropped the initial chance.
During a game in Division 6A of the Kent County Village League, Farningham 2nd XI opener Ed Bisley was dismissed in bizarre fashion by Stonehouse 1st XI.
After Bisley edged a delivery from opening bowler Nick Richardson, Stonehouse's wicketkeeper fumbled the catch.
The ball appeared to hit him in the chest, but just before it dropped to the floor he flicked it back up into the air with his leg, allowing the slip fielder to take a simple rebound catch.
Farningham shared a clip of the catch on social media, joking: "I think Bisy got a bit unlucky here but perfect for @cricketdistrict"
And cricket fans were quick to react to the freakish dismissal, with @HenryWAClark tweeting: "This, courtesy of @FarninghamCC, is the greatest catch of all time!"
Rival club Dartford, who play in Division 1 of the Kent Cricket League, added on Instagram : "Unbelievable!!"
Farningham ultimately won the match by 27 runs after scoring 207-6 from their 40 overs, with Brad Deamer scoring an unbeaten hundred off 63 deliveries.
In response, Stonhouse reached 180-8, with opener Jack Moyler top scoring with 52 off 79 balls.
