Cricket World Cup Final: Pitch invader interrupts play before Lord's stewards intervene

The Cricket World Cup Final was briefly interrupted as Lord's stewards prevented an attempted pitch invader from entering the field of play.

With England and New Zealand contesting the final, the woman attempted to enter the field of play but was swiftly tackled by security staff before even covering the short distance between the seats and the boundary rope.

Chris Woakes’ over was very briefly interrupted while the individual was carried away, but play resumed swiftly without any major disruption.

The woman was wearing an outfit imprinted with 'Vitaly uncensored' an outfit imprinted with 'Vitaly Uncensored', an adult website launched by Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, who appeared to confirm that the attempted pitch invader was his mother.

Zdorovetskiy earned headlines in June when a streaker took to the Wanda Metropolitano pitch to disrupt the Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham, breaking free to the centre-circle before being apprehended by security.

Zdorovetskiy took to Twitter following the latest incident, tweeting: "My mom is crazy!!!!!"

Thankfully, Sunday's final was able to continue without further incident.
