Cricket World Cup 2019 Opening Party: How to watch on TV and live stream online

The 2019 Cricket World Cup will be officially launched with an Opening Party on The Mall on Wednesday afternoon.

The tournament, which takes place across England and Wales over the next seven weeks, gets underway on Thursday, when England play South Africa at The Oval.

On Wednesday, thousands of fans who were successful in winning tickets through a ballot will attend ‘a celebration of cricket, music and culture’ on the iconic London road in front of Buckingham Palace.

Details of the event have been kept under wraps, but organisers have promised ‘a night to remember’ with some ‘famous faces to help get the party started’.

When is the opening party?

The Cricket World Cup Opening Party takes place on Wednesday, May 29.

The festivities start at 3:30pm BST, with last entry for ticket holders at 4:45pm. The event is scheduled to wrap up around 6pm.

How can I watch the opening party on TV?

The final hour of the opening party, from 5-6pm BST, will be broadcast live on TV channels around the world.

In the UK, the event will be shown live on Sky Sports' Cricket and Main Event channels, and is available via Now TV with a day pass on offer for £8.99.

Sky Sports subscribers can stream the event online via SkyGo and the SkyGo app.
