Jason Roy and Jofra Archer have each been fined 15 per cent of the match fee following England’s loss to Pakistan at the Cricket World Cup, after separate breaches of the ICC’s code of conduct during the match.
Roy was found to have made an audible obscenity, while Archer was charged with dissent towards an umpire after he complained about an on-field decision.
Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has also been fined 20 per cent of his match fee by the ICC, while the rest of his team have received a 10 per cent fine, due to a slow over-rate during the game.
England were stunned by Pakistan, losing by 14 runs at Trent Bridge in a match they were widely expected to win following an impressive performance against South Africa in the tournament opener.
Afterwards the captain Eoin Morgan was highly critical of his team’s fielding, demanding a change in attitude in the field in their next game, against Bangladesh on Saturday.
