Kevin Roberts has resigned as Cricket Australia (CA) chief executive after a dispute between the sport's governing body and major stakeholders during the coronavirus pandemic.
Roberts's departure was confirmed by CA chairman Earl Eddings this afternoon.
He will be replaced by Nick Hockley, the chief executive of the T20 World Cup local organising committee, on an interim basis.
Roberts was appointed in October 2018 following James Sutherland's 17-year tenure.
"Kevin has led this organisation through some very difficult times; he remains a person of principle and integrity," Eddings told a media conference.
"Kevin feels and the board agrees that it is time for new leadership."
Hockley said he would relish the opportunity to help CA in the immediate future.
"It's an absolute privilege to be asked to take on this role, even on a temporary basis," he said.
"It's an enormous responsibility to the organisation, to the broader game, the cricket community and most especially to the fans.
"I feel grateful for Kevin's support over the eight years I've been in cricket."
More to come.
