Crews tackle early morning vehicle fire on A1

Firefighters were called to a car that was on fire on the A1 in the early hours of Tuesday, November 5.

Crews from Tuxford Fire Station responded to the incident at about 4.30am.

The vehicle was "well alight" in the middle of a field off the A1, according to the service.

Firefighters have labelled the incident "suspicious".

A statement from Tuxford Fire Station said: "It was an early start for the crew this morning as they were mobilised to a vehicle fire on the A1.

"On arrival the crews were faced with one vehicle in the middle of a field, well alight.

"They used 1 hose reel, 2 BA, Thermal Imaging Camera and breaking in tools to deal with incident.

"This incident is believed to be suspicious and Nottinghamshire Police will be continuing their investigations."
