Firefighters were rushed to a blaze just before midday today (September 13) after a shop's sign caught fire. The fire broke out at a mobile phone and computer shop on Manchester Road, Altrincham, in a row of shops next to the Navigation Pub.
Fire crews were called around 11.40am saying it involved the 'signage' with three fire engines called to the scene. The blaze was put out quickly with crews in attendance for just an hour and a half.
A GMFRS spokesperson said: "At approximately 11:40am this morning (Tuesday September 13), firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a commercial property on Manchester Road in Altrincham, involving signage at the front of the building. Three fire engines from Sale and Wythenshawe fire stations quickly attended the scene.

"Firefighters used two extension ladders, one hose reel and other specialist equipment to extinguish the fire. Firefighters were in attendance for an hour and a half."
