Crews have rushed to a fire near Gilmerton Primary School this evening.
Emergency services received reports of the fire shortly before 4pm today (1 September) and raced to the scene.
Three pumps and one height appliance are currently battling the blaze at the scene on Moredun Dykes Road.
Reports on social media initially suggested the fire was at the primary school itself.
One woman shared a video of smoke billowing from the area, writing: "Gilmerton Primary School in Edinburgh on fire, what a shame."
However a spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed it is two industrial skips adjacent to the school that are alight.
