FIREFIGHTERS on Saturday night managed to control a major house fire at Bellbird that fully involved a home.
Multiple Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Bellbird and Cessnock were called to Tennant Street about 7pm, finding a house fully involved in the fire.
Crews hosed down gas cylinders and protected other properties in the area.
They managed to get the blaze under control and were working to extinguish it late on Sunday evening.
Acting Superintendent Scott Dodson said it was a crucial reminder to ensure smoke alarms were working and that all members of the family were prepared to call 000 in an emergency.
