Crews called to reports of boat fire on Beeston canal

Fire crews were called to reports of a boat fire on the Beeston Canal.

An eyewitness says a number of fire engines were spotted at the scene in Beeston, near to the weir and Canalside Heritage Centre.

The incident was dealt with by 4pm on Wednesday February 3.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to reports of a boat fire on the Beeston Canal at 3.25pm today, 3 February 3.

"Crews from Highfields, Long Eaton, and West Bridgford were in attendance. The incident was concluded by 4.05pm."

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed they were not sent to the scene and the fire service dealt with the incident.
