A report recently revealed that Alfie and Bella are the most popular dogs names , but some rescue dogs have such unusual names they might make you make you double take.
Dogs with names like Creme Egg or Obi Wan catch the attention of prospective adopters more than another Alfie or Bella might.
Can you give a home to any of these uniquely named dogs?
Betty Boop
This two-year-old French Bulldog at Dogs Trust Bridgend is a sweet but sensitive girl who will need multiple visits to get to know you.
Once you have built a bond, her loving and fun side will shine through, she is a dog who is loyal to the people she loves.
Betty Boop will suit a quiet, adult only, experienced home which will be patient while she settles.
Budweiser
Also at Dogs Trust Bridgend is Budweiser, a five-year-old German Shepherd who loves food, toys, walks, cuddles and a brush.
The friendly boy is fairly easy going and could live with children over the age of 11 who are comfortable with large dogs, but should be the only dog in the home.
He can be excitable and strong on the lead so needs a fun and loving companion who can rein him in from time to time with positive training methods.
Creme Egg
Another Dogs Trust Bridgend resident is Creme Egg , a two-year-old American Bulldog crossbreed.
The shy boy can be anxious around new people and new situations so is looking for an adult only home who can build up his socialising skills in a controlled environment.
Creme Egg is a lively, agile boy who once jumped over a seven foot fence, so needs a secure fence. He is incredibly loyal.
Obi Wan
Are you the Jedi Padawan Obi Wan is waiting for? This 18-month-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier crossbreed is at Dogs Trust Bridgend waiting for a perfect home.
Obi Wan is quite an anxious boy around new people and dogs, so needs slow introductions to potential owners and any other dogs they may have.
He is not great around children so needs an adult only home. New owners should be positive and give rewards when earned. Once Obi Wan gets to know you, he will be loyal and affectionate.
Jelly Tot
It is easy to see why this little two-year-old crossbreed has earnt her name. She is at Hope Rescue in Pontyclun who saved her from a puppy farm.
The nervous girl loves the company of other dogs so should be rehomed with at least one other resident dog to help her gain confidence and engage with play.
Jelly Tot needs owners who will gradually build up her confidence as she can find the world overwhelming.
Kit Kat and Kinder
This cheeky pair were also rescued from a puppy farm by Hope Rescue and come as a package deal as they are so attached.
Both two years old, the female Labradors are unlikely to have any experience of home life before so will need basic training.
They love carrying things in their mouths. Despite their start to life, they are both friendly with people and could live with dogs and cats.
Madonna
This three-year-old Cocker Spaniel at Dogs Trust Cardiff has lived a sheltered life so needs a quiet home with patient and understanding owners who can help her adjust to home life.
Once she gets to know you she is completely adoring and will flourish.
She gains confidence from other dogs so must live with another dog in the home.
Noddy
Just like the cartoon character created by Enid Blyton, Noddy is full of beans and estimated to be between one and two years old.
Currently at Cardiff Dogs Home , he is a lovely big boy who can be nervous around unfamiliar people so will need help socialising with other dogs.
