Creetown Bowling Club win Kirkcudbrightshire Cup for the first time in years

Creetown Bowling Club has won the Kirkcudbrightshire Cup – for the first time in 17 years.

The Ferry Toon team last lifted the trophy back in 2005.

But at Dalbeattie on Friday night they outplayed Kirkcudbright to lift the coveted silverware once again.

Speaking after their comprehensive 81-56 win, team member Ben Herries told the News: “It was a nice feeling.

“I’d forgotten the last time we won it and only knew it was 17 years ago because ‘Creetown 2005’ is engraved on the trophy.

“We had a wee celebration at the club afterwards.”
