A creepy Glasgow prowler was caught sneaking around gardens and 'trying doors' in the middle of the night.

Police have launched a probe after a man dressed all in black was captured creeping around outside houses in Riddrie, near Dennistoun, in the north east of the city.

In the video the man can be seen slowly walking around outside a property before tiptoeing over a garden into a neighbouring home at around 1.20am on Tuesday morning.

The shifty man is seen looking around wearing a black puffer jacket, skip cap, gloves and a face mask and locals have now been been warned to lock their doors.

A resident, who caught the man on a security camera, posted the footage on Facebook and said: "Prowler trying doors in Riddrie dressed all in black.

"Also wearing a skip hat, gloves and face mask at 1.20am.

"Just wanting to inform everyone in Dennistoun to lock your doors incase there in your area.

"Police have been informed this is a video from my security camera."

One local replied saying: "This happened to us two weeks ago last Saturday."

Another said "Thanks, I live alone so that's a worry."
