People visiting Formby Beach in the coming weeks have been urged not to think the worst if they spot something unusual in the nature reserve.
Thousands of people visit Formby each year to make the most of its golden sands and stunning pinewoods, and to try and catch a glimpse of a red squirrel.
Today, National Trust, which looks after the area, along with hundreds of other sites across the country, posted a series of photos of "creepy" things people may find during their visit.

The post reads: "Double double, toil and trouble; these fungi will make your cauldron bubble.
"Sprinkle in dead man’s fingers and a dash yellow brain; not forgetting one or two cramp balls. A handful of the devil’s fingers and an oozing beefsteak will finish it off.
"There’s no place like the countryside for some creepy company this Halloween."
The photos show a series of fungi which look like other things.
Probably the most convincing of all is 'dead man's fingers', given their name as they branch out into lobes as they grow, making them look like fingers on a hand.
While they sound gruesome, it's actually a type of coral, and it's found on all coastlines in the UK.
Commenting on its own post, National Trust said: "We can only begin to imagine how many people have seen these and thought the worst..."
One person wrote: "This is actually how it looks? This isn’t a Halloween prank?"
While another added: "These are creepy. Never seen anything like it before, it actually looks like real hands."
Other photos in the post include Devil's fingers, a fungus with red "tentacles" which splay out like a starfish, and yellow brain fungus, which looks as you might imagine it to.
