A creepy chancer was caught on camera last night 'using tools' to try and enter someone's back garden in the dead of the night.
A concerned daughter released images of the suspect attempting to break into her mother's garden at Rannoch Place, Clermiston, after pulling up a white van.
Police are now hunting for the suspect who attempted to enter the curtilage of the property before taking off and leaving his toolbox behind.
The daughter described what happened saying: "In the early hours of this morning around 4.15 am a male around average build, dark hair, wearing a black hoodie with what looks like a logo, shorts and white trainers driving a small white van pulled into my mum's street in Clermiston and tried to break into my mums back garden.

"He walked around the side of the house to the back, the neighbour's back gate was opened so can only assume this was also him but cameras don’t catch that, he then goes to get a toolbox from his van to stand on and look over the gate.
"He returned to his van looking for something else then left in a rush around 4.30am forgetting his toolbox..
"Mum has phoned the police so the toolbox and CCTV has been passed over."
