A creep who simulated a sex act with an ice lolly in front of a female trainee in the pharmacy where he worked was yesterday placed on the sex offenders’ register.
Jamie Christie played the theme tune of the raunchy Fifty Shades of Grey film in front of colleagues and moaned and grinded against workbenches.
He was found guilty of making sexualised and inappropriate comments, gestures and noises at the pharmacy, Bannerman’s in Dunblane, Perthshire, between June 2017 and September last year.
A charge of non-sexually assaulting a woman at the chemist by hitting her on the bottom with a rubber band was dropped.
He had denied all charges and claimed he made a noise “while stretching to get something from a high shelf” and was “working too hard” to make sexual noises.
Stirling Sheriff Court was told that Christie, 33, had turned his back on others in the shop with the Fruit Pastilles lolly in his mouth last summer to face a 26-year-old witness alone.
Another witness, who was 19 at the time, said Christie, of Dunblane. “often” made sex noises in her ear, making her feel “really uncomfortable”.
Virgil Crawford, defending, said his client had been engaging in “banter”.
Sheriff Wyllie Robertson said he was convinced by the “credible and reliable” prosecution witnesses.
He deferred sentence until July 10 for reports and ordered the first offender’s name to be placed on the sex offenders’ register.
