A man with a history of domestic offences called his ex-partner on Christmas Eve and chillingly told her- I’m your worst nightmare.
Allan Logan made two telephone calls to his ex Rebecca Lindsay and uttered a threatening remark to her.
In another call he told the victim’s father: “Tell Becky to have a nice life.”
Logan 46, from Secession House, Troon, appeared from custody at Ayr Sheriff Court on Wednesday, January 22.
He admitted breaching the terms of a Non-Harrassment Order, imposed at Ayr Sheriff Court on October 3.
He breached it on December 24 last year by repeatedly making phone calls to his victim.
It was revealed in court that Logan had previous convictions for domestic matters.
The Fiscal Depute, Andrew Lazzarin, said: ”It seems the accused found himself on a Non-Harrassment Order in relation to the complainer and certain conditions were imposed on October 3 at this court.”
Mr Lazzarin said the offence unfolded at 11.30pm when the complainer was in her parents' home address and received a telephone call from the accused who said to her: “It’s your f****** worst nightmare.”
“The call was terminated, causing panic for the complainer and concern for her father,” said Mr Lazzarin.
“It seems the same number called later and this time the complainer’s father answered. “
This time the accused said: “Do you know who this is?” then “Tell Becky to have a nice life.”
The complainer recognised the voice and reported the matter to the police. The accused was traced and cautioned and charged.
Defence solicitor Ian Gillies said: “Up until the summer of last year he was a hard-working individual but with a long term drink problem.
“He went back to alcohol. It caused the break-up because he was drinking to excess.
“It’s his position there was some contact through text but foolishly and stupidly he made these two phone calls. There was nothing after that.
“He could not remember making the calls. He was remanded in custody.
“But he fully accepts the statements and admitted to an early guilty plea.
“He knows there will only be one disposal. He tells me that the relationship is over. He intends to move back to the east coast and put all this behind him.”
Sheriff Scott Pattison said: “Because of your recent record and record for domestic offences there is nothing else appropriate other than a custodial sentence.”
Logan was jailed for seven months, backdated until January 6.
