Creep approaches little boy on his way to school in Santry as gardai warn parents to be vigilant

Parents in a north Dublin suburb have been put on high alert after a child had a terrifying experience on his way to school yesterday morning.

Gardai have confirmed they are investigating the sinister incident that took place in the Santry area at around 9am.

The boy was walking to school when he was approached by a creep in a car. Luckily, the young lad managed to get away and safely made his way to school where he raised the alarm.

A number of schools in the area have contacted parents to warn them about the sickening approach and urged them to talk to their kids about "stranger danger".

An email sent by the principal of one school read: "Between now and the holidays, the teachers will revise the relevant Stay Safe lessons and we would advise parents to discuss the matter with children, without frightening them, and reminding them of the 'Stranger-Danger' protocols."

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live they are investigating the incident.

He said: "Gardai are aware of reports of an approach of a male that is reported to have occurred in Santry, Dublin 9, yesterday, 17 December 2020, at approximately 9:00am. Enquiries are ongoing."
