The Posh left the Mem with no goals and one point after a solid defensive performance from the Gas, with Tony Craig the standout player for the home side.

, with Ivan Toney forcing a good save from Anssi Jaakkola, and Ollie Clarke's late effort kept out by Christy Plym, but it ended goalless.

After the game, fans expressed their delight at keeping out one of the league's top teams, and best front three in Marcus Maddison, Toney and Mo Eisa.

Brian Carter: Credit to you. Great job and I am feeling just a little more optimism going into 2020.

@brfctom: Kevin’s taking us to the Championship.

Andy Gait: 4 points from 2 of the top 3 teams. I'll take that.

Liam Sercombe of Bristol Rovers (Ryan Hiscott/JMP)

James: Quality point lads! Great to see JCH back. Clean sheet against the highest scorers, that’ll do me.

@BRFCDiscussions: Will take that. Really good performance which shows we can compete with the best of this league. Now, let's get a good manager in to take this team to the next level.

Daneil Sheppard: Time for us to be taken seriously. A win v Ipswich and a draw v Peterborough within the last week. Big spirit and unity within this team.

Mark Weech: Happy with a point. Show that we are good enough to stay in contention with a game in hand.
