- Grant co-created Red Dwarf with Doug Naylor, which first aired on BBC Two in 1988 and later saw a revival, following the adventures of the last human in space.
- The writing duo also collaborated on other projects, including Spitting Image and Radio 4 comedies, before developing the Red Dwarf concept from a sketch.
- Just days before his death, Grant had announced the upcoming publication of a new Red Dwarf prequel novel, Red Dwarf: Titan, and tributes were led by star Craig Charles.
