Creative hub and shop Good Store Studio opens in Old Market

A former motorcycle wear shop has been transformed into a creative hub, which also stocks a range of independent gifts, homeware items and clothing.

Dainese on Old Market, next door to the Old Market Tavern, has reopened as Good Store Studio.

The owners of the multi-use venue were previously based in creative hub Two's Company, directly opposite their new home, but had to leave the building in August as its landlord plans to turn it into flats.

They didn't want to move too far after being evicted and in the end managed to find a new place just a stone's throw away.

About Good Store Studio

Good Store Studio is headed up by Beth Izzard of pop-up and online brand DIY Supermarket, Josie Irvine of design brand Palace Flophouse and Emma White of Duvet Days.

After having to leave their base they launched a fundraising campaign with a target of £10,000. They managed to raise £6,000 from 143 backers, which has gone towards redeveloping the site.

The venue is home to a textiles studio from which customers can request to have their clothes made bespoke for them.

Speaking about the relaunch, the trio said: "It feels great to be up and running again and we're so pleased we managed to find somewhere nearby in Old Market.

"A customer the other day said we have brought a lot of colour to the area, which was really nice to hear."

Beth, Josie and Emma have managed to 'rehome' three artists who were previously based at Two's Company and have already filled all of the office space at the back of the shop.
