Cre’Von LeBlanc joins Avonte Maddox among the top-10 CBs in yards per coverage snap

The Philadelphia Eagles face an interesting dilemma when it comes to veteran cornerback Cre’Von LeBlanc. The fiery cornerback isn’t the biggest name on the depth chart, but at times he’s been the most physical and efficient corner on the roster, especially during the injury riddle 2018 season.

LeBlanc spent time with the New England Patriots, the Chicago Bears, and the Detroit Lions before joining the Philadelphia Eagles. LeBlanc was sensational during the Eagles playoff run even picking off Drew Brees in the divisional round loss. He’s in a tight cornerback battle with the Eagles, but if you ask Pro Football Focus, LeBlanc is more than adequate in the slot.

LeBlanc strong play was evident in the playoffs, where per Pro Football Focus, Cre’Von was the highest-graded cornerback during the postseason grading out at 85.6. That was higher than the Saints all-world cornerback, Marshon Lattimore who was was second at 82.9. During the playoff run, LeBlanc allowed eight catches on 13 targets for 65 yards, as opposing quarterbacks had a 67.8 passer rating when targeting him.

Such a run should leave a player full of confidence, and LeBlanc isn’t resting on his laurels, as he had an excellent OTAs and just recently was spotted working out with Raiders star, Antonio Brown.
