'Crazy' scenes at Queen's funeral as huge crowds surge past police to see procession

Crowds gathered in London for the Queen's funeral surged past police in an attempt to see the procession. Officers attempted in vain to control the situation as masses of people - including pensioners - hurried to get a glimpse of the solemn spectacle.

A video, filmed by Dylan Hayward, 28, showed the moments just before the funeral procession passed by. Crowds were gathered near an entrance to Hyde Park, just off Park Lane, having seen US President Joe Biden's motorcade pass through around 10 minutes earlier.

Dylan, a Birmingham-based journalist, had been heading towards Hyde Park to watch the big screen - along with hundreds of others. Crowds had been prevented from crossing Park Lane while Biden's motorcade passed and, moments later, police were still preventing people crossing further up the road.
