'Crazy meteor' shoots across night sky in striking clip leaving stargazers 'blown away'

Striking footage of what is believed to be a meteor shooting across the night sky has left stargazers blown away.

Musician Amber Coffman tweeted the clip saying it was one of the 'craziest things she'd ever seen in her life'.

The amazing video shows a bright light darting across the clouds at speed, illuminating the night sky as it glides.

Amber's Twitter location says she's in Los Angeles, but it's not certain where the footage was captured.

Followers claimed to have seen it in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with one saying they were "blown away at how bright and long it lasted".

She replied to a comment that said "maybe the clouds obscured most of the visible trail" by insisting that "the trail was highly visible in person."

Another witness claimed he saw it in Albuquerque.

Alexander Moller tweeted: "Saw it in Albuquerque. So crazy. Are we sure it’s not a UFO."

People have been commenting in amazement (@Amber_Coffman/Twitter)

But others were quick to shut his UFO claims down.

Several stargazers claimed they saw it in New Mexico.

One said: "I seen this in New Mexico. I was blown away at how bright and long it lasted.

"Crazy that this was way up in Golden (sic)."
