Crawl exclusive clip shows scary fight for survival in Kaya Scodelario horror

Be afraid of what lies in the deep.

Crawl is the unnerving new horror film produced by the legendary Sam Raimi and directed by The Hills Have Eyes helmer Alexandre Aja.

The film stars former Skins actress Kaya Scodelario as a woman struggling to survive a dangerous threat when her hometown is hit by a powerful hurricane.

Young Haley (Scordelario) ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father, Dave. After finding him gravely hurt in their family home, the two of them become trapped by the rapidly dangerous floodwaters.

With the storm growing even worse, Haley and Dave discover an even greater threat than the rising water level as they come under relentless attack from a pack of gigantic alligators.

The horror in Crawl (Paramount Pictures)

This exclusive clip to Mirror Online shows Haley as she attempts to get her family to safety but danger lies beneath, will she be okay?

The film has already won critical acclaim, with review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes currently rating the film at 81% "Fresh" from critics' reviews.

Their consensus reads: "An action-packed creature feature that's fast, terrifying, and benefits greatly from a completely game Kaya Scodelario, Crawl is a fun throw-back with just enough self-awareness to work."

The enemy of Crawl (Paramount Pictures)

This definitely looks like one for the horror fans out there.

If you cannot cope with a fear of drowning, hurricanes and alligators probably should look away now.

Crawl is released in UK cinemas on August 23, 2019.
