Crashed car left next to Goosey the Goose's usual roundabout home

A crashed car has been left on a busy Nottingham roundabout, next to the usual home of Goosey the Goose Fair goose.

The black Ford Fiesta has been sitting on the roundabout joining Sherwood Rise and Gregory Boulevard since around 3.40am on Wednesday (October 6).

The roundabout directly next door is usually home to Goosey.

However, following the cancellation of this year's Goose Fair, the mascot remains absent from the island - marking a lucky escape for Goosey.

He will instead be placed in Old Market Square from October 7.

The car mounted the roundabout in the early hours of the morning, according to Nottinghamshire Police. The vehicle could be seen near to Mansfield Road Baptist Church with its front left tyre skewed.

Turf could also be seen thrown up as a result of the incident.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said there were no injuries and the driver was arranging recovery of his vehicle.
