Crash victim's handbag was stolen while she lay on the ground seriously injured

A young woman who was hit by a car had her handbag stolen while she lay on the ground with "serious injuries".

The theft happened on Saturday, March 1, following a crash on Trinity Way, Salford , at the traffic lights next to the New Bailey car park.

The bag contained vital items, including a phone containing phone numbers for emergency contacts that the authorities needed to get in touch with.

Police have since appealed for anyone who might have information on the incident to come forward.

In a post on the GMP Salford Facebook page, a spokesman said: "On the young lady being hit and seriously injured, some lovely person has decided to take the lady's handbag, which had her mobile phone in and other items of property.

"The phone had all her emergency contacts in and was urgently needed."

Anybody with information is asked to contact GMP on 101 number, using the crime reference number cri/06ff/0005008/20.

Alternatively, use the Live Chat feature on www.gmp.police.uk.
