Crash sees traffic held on M5 southbound near Almondsbury

There are delays on the M5 southbound today (June 23) due to an accident.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "All traffic is being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M5 Southbound from J14 B4509 (Thornbury / Falfield) to J15 M4 J20 (Almondsbury Interchange).

"All traffic is being held while highways deal with the accident."

Traffic England reported delays of 30 minutes for drivers.

At 2.10pm, Inrix said: "Queueing traffic due to accident, now on the hard shoulder on M5 Southbound from J14 B4509 (Thornbury / Falfield) to J15 M4 J20 (Almondsbury Interchange). All lanes have been re-opened.

"All traffic released at around 2.10pm after being held to allow highways move the accident."
