Crash on major road in Paisley sees car roof sliced off by emergency services

Fire fighters had to slice the roof off of a car following a crash on a major road in Paisley.

At least one person was hurt following a crash on Renfrew Road around 3pm on Wednesday.

Emergency services had to remove the roof of one of the two cars involved to free a motorist.

The road, close to the Tesco Express petrol station, ground to a halt as the incident was dealt with.

Traffic was turned back into Paisley and two Renfrew bound lanes were closed.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We were called to reports of a two vehicle crash around 3pm.

"Emergency services attended the scene and there is no information on injuries at this time."

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they attended to make the road safe.
