Crash on busy road near Lidl leads to tailbacks

Police were called to crash near to a Lidl supermarket on a busy road in Arnold.

The collision occurred at the junction of Mansfield Road and Oxclose Lane at around 12.30pm on Thursday, July 8.

Mansfield Road was closed by police but has since reopened - there is still heavy traffic at the junction according to travel website Inrix.

Motorists have been urged to allow extra time for their journeys as a result of the crash.

A spokesperson for Nottingham Travelwise said: "Road traffic collision on Mansfield Road junction Oxclose Lane.

"Left turn lane into Oxclose from Mansfield Road is closed. Police on scene, allow extra time for your journey."

Another statement added: "RTC has now cleared at Mansfield Road and Oxclose Lane - all lanes have reopened to traffic."

Traffic is still very slow heading in both directions, however, near to the Lidl supermarket as of 2.20pm.
