Crash on busy Ayrshire road leads to motorcyclist being rushed to hospital

Police have confirmed that a motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a crash at the weekend.

Near the A71 and A78 at the Warrix Interchange was heavily tailed back heading to Kilmarnock from Irvine after an accident.

Police have revealed that the biker was taken to Crosshouse Hospital but his injuries were not life-threatening.

A police spokesman said: "Police received report of a two-vehicle collision, involving a car and a motorbike, on the A78 at the A71 slip road near Irvine, around 4.10pm on Saturday, November 23.

"The motorcyclist has been taken to University Hospital Crosshouse with non-life threatening injuries."
