Crash near Lidl in Yate sees pensioner rushed to hospital

A pensioner was taken to hospital with a head injury this morning (May 9) following a crash in Yate town centre.

Emergency services rushed to Stanshawe Crescent at around 10.30am and shut off the road following the collisioner.

Both South Western Ambulance Service and Avon and Somerset Constabulary attended.

The man was a pedestrian, believed to be in his 80s, and he suffered a head injury.

"The man, a pedestrian believed to be in his 80s, has been taken to hospital with a head injury which is not believed to be serious."

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 10.15am about a collision near Kennedy Way, Yate.

"A male patient was transported by ambulance to hospital."
