Crash closes busy Stockport road as police called to scene

An accident closed a Cheadle road this morning.

The A560 Stockport Road was shut on the eastbound side following a collision.

The incident happened near the junction with Oak Road at around 8.17am.

It caused delays heading towards Stockport, according to traffic information websites.

It is not yet known how many vehicles were involved or if anyone has been seriously injured.

The M.E.N. has contacted GMP for more information.

Diversions were put in place while police dealt with the incident.

The accident was cleared from the George and Dragon Pub and Oak Road just before 9am.

The road has since reopened to traffic.
