Crash closed A1 southbound in both directions

The A1 to N1 road has now been reopened in both directions following a crash.

Diversions had been put in place for motorists travelling southbound at the Dublin Road/ Forkhill Road earlier today.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Motorists are advised that the A1 has been closed Southbound at junction of Dublin Road in Newry.

"Traffic is being diverted via the Old Dublin Road. The road is expected to remain closed for a number of hours."

The road traffic collision is reported to have happened overnight.

Drivers can now use the route again.
