A crash is blocking lane one of three at Charing Cross westbound.
The collision involves a car and a truck and is between J17 and J18 (A82 Great Western Road).
The incident, reported by Traffic Scotland at 8.36am, could cause problems at the very busy junction, especially for cars exiting for the city centre and Clydeside Expressway.
Police and recovery service are on their way to the scene.
Congestion is back to junction 12 (Riddrie/Cumbernauld Road).
In the meantime, motorists are advised to take care nearby, or perhaps avoid the route if they can take an alternative road.
