An accident has been causing problems for traffic heading towards the Bellfield Interchange in Kilmarnock this afternoon.
An incident at the roundabout has caused cars to be tailed back in all directions at the roundabout which leads onto the A77 both southbound and northbound.
An eyewitness who was passing the incident said: "The traffic is tailed back all the way to the roundabout near Asda on the Queen's Drive, and probably further.
"I thought it was just people working and shopping causing the tailbacks, but then I saw police and flashing lights on the roundabout.
"It must be pretty serious because the traffic is really bad. I was going to head home that way but I had to find another route."
