A bothy made from a shipping container with no toilet or kitchen has been listed on Airbnb for nearly £500 for two nights.
The Remote Container Bothy is near Lochgoilhead, on the Cowal peninsula, but has no reviews yet.
Photos of the listing show a metal container with a futon inside which converts into a “comfortable mattress” and an interior consisting mostly of plywood.
Guests are provided with “amenities such as toilet paper, tea and coffee, a starter pack of canned and dried foods , five litres of water and a spade for bathroom requirements”.
No electric kettle is provided but guests can heat up a metal kettle on the stove.
Sleeping bags are available to rent and the service charge is £66, pushing the cost of two nights towards the £500 mark.
The owners of the listing – managers of the Carrick Castle estate – were approached for comment.
