Craigshill will remember war heroes at anniversary event

People in Craigshill will take time out tomorrow to honour the Armed Forces.

The annual Craigshill Remembers event will mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings and The Battle of Normandy. It was also 80 years since the start of WW2.

Locals are being nvited to join in remembering the sacrifice of all those men and women who served, and still serve today.

Come along on Friday (November 8) from 1.30pm at Craigshill Neighbourhood Centre and see displays by Military Museum Scotland, 278 Bty 105 Regt Royal Artillery, Poppy Scotland and more. Enjoy the sounds of Susan Broadfoot. Refreshments will be on sale All donations made on the day will go to Military Museum Scotland

The event has been organised by Craigshill Good Neighbour Network.

Its activities coordinator Susan Colquhoun explained: “It is so important to continue educating people of all ages on military history and the sacrifices made, and still being made, by our forces. “Craigshill Remembers is our way of remembering, and also thanking, every single one of them. They will never be forgotten.

“All donations on the day will go to Military Museum Scotland in Linburn to help them carry on the important work they do in educating people of all ages and honouring our forces.”
