Craig Small murder: Four arrested over man shot dead in Wembley

Craig Small was shot dead in Wembley on 5 July ( Metropolitan Police )

Police investigating the fatal shooting of a man in northwest London have made four arrests.

Detectives detained four men in the early hours of Wednesday over the murder of Craig Small, 32, who was killed outside a shop in Wembley in July.

The suspects, aged 28, 29, 32 and 34, have been taken to London police stations for questioning.

Detective chief inspector Helen Rance, who is leading the investigation, said: “We have tonight executed a number of warrants and arrested four men in connection with Craig’s murder.

“This is a significant development but I would continue to urge anyone with information that may assist our inquiry to make contact with us.”

Small was shot on Harrow Road in Monks Park at 8.10pm on Friday, 5 July. He was taken to hospital by paramedics but died shortly afterwards.

His mother, Carol Small, described him as a “peacemaker” who “had changed his life for the better”.

“Craig meant everything to us,” she said following his death. “He was a loving son, a father, an uncle, he was a peacemaker. He was the soul of the family, he lit up the room and now the light has gone.”

The Metropolitan Police urged any witnesses to come forward.

Ms Rance said: “If you want, you can call Crimestoppers and you do not have to tell them who you are, but I would implore anyone with information to make that call. We all need to rise to the challenge and bring Craig’s killers to justice.”
