Craig Revel-Horwood prefers Australian version of Strictly because he can swear

If you think he’s a bit harsh with his put-downs on Strictly Come Dancing, imagine a show where Craig Revel Horwood is allowed to swear...

The hard-to-impress judge has been working on Dancing With the Stars in his native Australia, where he can really let rip.

He said: “You can actually say what you like. You are actually allowed to swear. It was brilliant.

“We are so restricted on the BBC1 show as it’s a real family audience – so is the Australian one, but they have a different sense of humour.

They can say “bloody” and normally the things that are in our vocabulary over here.

"So that was sort of freeing in a way. I loved it" he added.

He also told how the final shows in the latest series presented extra challenges because they were filmed without an audience due to lockdown.

“It was very strange as they had never done that before. I had to boo myself.

"It was hilarious. We had about 10 crew sitting in clapping,” he said.

Earlier this week he promised Strictly could be “even more spectacular” if filming for the next series goes ahead using social-distancing measures.

It comes as Craig Revel-Horwood gave fans a sneak peek inside his glamorous wardrobe as he revealed he was taking part in the OK! Closet Clear Out.

The glamorous 55-year-old Strictly Come Dancing judge has joined a star-studded collection of celebrities that are donating their clothes to auction.

The funds raised from the exciting eBay bidding will go toward supporting victims of domestic abuse through the charity Refuge.
