Craig Moore confirms Ange Postecoglou has asked for advice regarding the Celtic job

Former Rangers defender Craig Moore has revealed Celtic frontrunner Ange Postecoglou has been in touch for advice regarding the vacant hot-seat at Parkhead.

Postecoglou has been heavily linked with the job since Friday evening, when previous favourite Eddie Howe declared he was no longer interested in succeeding Neil Lennon.

And it seems the 55-year-old is doing his due diligence behind-the-scenes, after approaching his fellow Aussie Moore and asking for his take on the white-hot atmosphere of Glasgow rivalry.

Some reports have even claimed Postecoglou has agreed to takeover at Celtic Park, with an announcement due this week, and Moore revealed via the Glasgow Times : “We have had some conversations over the last couple of days.

“Ange isn’t a silly man.

"There is a lot that I have been able to help him with.

"I know Ange and I am sure if he gets the job we will have regular conversations to make sure there is no stone left unturned and no surprises.”

Moore cemented himself as a hero to the Ibrox faithful during his playing days, winning five Premiership titles, four Scottish Cups and three League Cups, before going on to play under Postecoglou towards the end of his career at Brisbane Roar.
