Craig McLachlan: Neighbours actor charged with assault and sex offences in Australia

Neighbours star Craig McLachlan has been charged with a string of sex offences in Australia and will face court next month (February).  

The actor, who also appeared in Home and Awayfaces 10 assault charges including eight counts of indecent assault, one of attempted indecent assault, and one of common law assault. 

A statement from his spokesperson said: "Craig is innocent of all these charges which will be vigorously defended."

The 53 year old is to appear at Melbourne Magistrate's court on 8 February. 

McLachlan played Henry Ramsay, the brother of Kylie Minogue's character Charlene, between 1987 and 1989. His character's storylines also saw him act alongside other former Neighbours stars including Jason Donovan, Russell Crowe and Guy Pearce

In Home and Away he appeared as school teacher Grant Mitchell. He has also enjoyed success as a musician, and in several stage shows including versions of Grease and The Rocky Horror Show.
