Craig Levein targeted by seething Hearts fans' protest as Jambos hit rock bottom

Hearts fans launched a furious protest against Craig Levein outside Tynecastle after watching their side slip to the bottom of the Premiership after a 3-2 defeat to Motherwell.

Seething supporters chanted "Levein must go" as they made their feelings clear.

Police were forced to intervene after a small section of fans appeared to try and force their way into the main entrance at Tynecastle.

The result leaves Hearts rock bottom with just two points from five matches and the Gorgie side haven't won since March.

Hearts have only won four league games in 2019 as the pressure intensifies on Levein, who doubles as the club's director of football.

It was Motherwell's first win at Tynecastle in more than five-and-a-half years, as they jumped up to third place.

Despite Hearts taking significant strides forward off the field under Ann Budge in recent years the supporters also chanted "sack the board" as their patience runs out with the current regime.

Levein was appointed first team manager back in August 2017 replacing Ian Cathro.

He signed a three-year deal at the time, with it set to run out at the end of the season.
