Craig Levein in classic Hibs wind-up as he celebrates Hearts’ huge derby win

There hasn’t been much evidence of the Craig Levein reboot these days.

Little wonder. The Hearts boss had been under near intolerable pressure after a disastrous run that failed to see them win a league game since March.

That was of course until Sunday. Trailing to a goal of epic proportions from Hibs’ Stevie Mallan in the Edinburgh derby, Levein and his Jambos were staring into the abyss once more.

But then came heroic contributions from Uche Ikpeazu and 17-year-old Aaron Hickey and suddenly Levein’s head was off the chopping block.

Suddenly, Craig Levein 2:00 was back. And suddenly, his expertly trolling technique had returned.

Referencing the game Jambos love to gloat about while Hibbys dive for behind the couch, the Hearts head coach side: “All credit to the boys, they plugged away and kept going.

"Big Uche got us back in it and Aaron, who had a smashing game, managed to score the winner in a derby with the numbers five and one on his back – not bad at all.

“In this game I welcome the pressure.

“We restricted  Hibs  to very few chances, although when Stevie scored from 25 yards into the top corner I thought, ‘This isn’t going to be our day'.

"But all credit to the supporters because we haven’t given them enough days like these this season so we need to do better."
