Craig Levein hopeful Hearts trio will be fit for Scottish Cup final

Craig Levein is hopeful his injured trio of Uche Ikpeazu, Peter Haring and Arnaud Djoum will be fit in time for the William Hill Scottish Cup final against Celtic.

Haring hasn’t played since the semi-final win over Inverness at Hampden due to a persistent groin problem.

Ikpeazu was forced off early in the second half of the recent 1-0 defeat to Kilmarnock at Tynecastle , while Djoum has been having trouble with his Achilles.

None of them will feature in this Sunday’s final Ladbrokes Premiership game of the season away to Celtic, but Levein is hopeful that the fitness work they’ve been doing will have them ready in time for the big one six days later.

Celtic trio a doubt for Scottish Cup final against Hearts

The Hearts boss confirmed he will take a younger squad to the East End of Glasgow this weekend to avoid taking any chances with his senior players.

"There's three - Arnaud, Uche and Peter. Arnaud's Achilles has been bothering him,” said Levein. “I'm hopeful all three will be fit for the final.

"It will be a younger squad (on Sunday). How many will start, we will wait and see but I'm inclined to give some of them game time."
